Willkommen bei Von Roll

At the start of the program you will be based at our head office in Au near Zurich, where you will meet the other trainees, some of the company's managers and your mentor.

During the team-building work you will experience together with the other trainees what it is like to grow into a team and to master challenges together. You will also familiarize yourself with Von Roll's corporate values.

In addition you will complete a training course at the Von Roll Corporate University, which will introduce you to our extremely wide and varied range of products and take you to our production site in Breitenbach.

During the twelve-month training period you will be accompanied by a mentor. As mentioned above, you will meet this mentor on your first day at the company. His or her main role is to be your professional point of contact within the organization. Your mentor will be a member of our management team, meaning that you have an experienced expert at your side who is on hand to give you advice and support when you need it. You will learn from your mentor how people within a global company build up the network of contacts they need in their day-to-day work. You will experience how inspiring it can be to exchange ideas with your colleagues.

On the first day you will also be given the subject of the project you will be working on for the following twelve months and which you will present to a committee at the end of this training period. The trainee program is not run to a set pattern. Quite the opposite, in fact: you will have a large say in the shape "your" program takes. You will, however, complete at least one assignment at one of our foreign locations. Not only will this give you a professional challenge, but it will also provide you with an excellent opportunity to use and improve your language skills and experience another country and culture.

Different cultures, different customs. To succeed in international business in an era of global networking, it is important to know and understand the unique cultural aspects of each country, be it China, France or Russia. We will provide you with the training you need for your assignment abroad, while also enabling you to develop your intercultural skills.

Your program might look something like this:

• Two weeks at the company's head office in Au near Zurich
• Four months at a European location
• Six-week "breather"
• Three months at a location in Asia or the US.
• Two months at head office
• One month back at the place you started
