Von Roll has sold its 51% holding in Calidus Von Roll Isola (Proprietary) Ltd located in Johannesburg to Powertech Leasing (Proprietary) Ltd of Bryanston, South Africa. Von Roll Isola (Proprietary) Ltd is engaged in the distribution of various insulating and composite materials produced by Von Roll’s affiliates. It realized in 2004 net sales amounting to CHF 15.8 million and employed 108 people.

This step allows Von Roll to focus its own activities to the key markets.

In order to secure the distribution of Von Roll’s range of products in the region, the parties have signed an exclusive long term supply and sales agreement between Von Roll’s affiliates and Calidus Von Roll Isola (Proprietary) Ltd

The closing of the sale is conditioned upon the approval by the South African Competition Authority which the parties expect to obtain within a period of approximately 2 months.

Powertech Leasing (Proprietary) Ltd forms part of Allied Electronics Limited (“Altron”), a company located in Johannesburg and primarily engaged in Power Electrics, Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
