Since 2009, Von Roll has been developing a third-generation solar cell, which will have a distinct competitive advantage on the market due to the low manufacturing costs involved and Von Roll’s increasing efficiency rates.
Von Roll established in May 2010 its Solar Center of Excellence headquartered in Tägerwilen in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. A prototype is expected to be completed by the end of 2010. Production should begin on the pilot product series in the second half of 2011.
